'Grief from deadbeats' overwhelms our ability to function for a while

A violent attack upon my computing resources has brought a change of effort in CUT's work and we have to temporarily suspend output.

A Better Re-run

Rerun of Dynasty One

This short paper looks at all sources, including archaeology, and reconciles all. CUT chronology is the basis for all dating. The start for Menes is obtained from clearing-uptimes.blogspot.com.au.
The tectonic connections are treated in various papers – some at academia.edu.
Its a short ride, relies on an understanding of CUT charting techniques (see academia.edu) and is insufferably notey or not proper prose.

I don't take associations made at Wikipedia for A 1 to A 8 or Abydos kings 1-8 for granted.

The Ethiopians or southerners took the north in a series of battles so we should see certain connections and we do. We need to reference the Demi-gods as well and we do that too in CUT chronology.

-2781 Nakehte Kalnis,son of Abd Shems
-2770 Gannkam
-2752 Hohey
-2741 Kasiyope (queen)
-2722 Sabe I
-2639 end of En-mer-kar and start of Lugal-Banda (in Mesopotamia)
-2620 GarIak II

We shall attack this issue of the First Dynasty by looking at extant sources, then CUT's Public Service (PS) reconstruction and finally apply our CUT-charting tools. The Abydos king list holds true for the flow in this new order and is most comforting in this respect.

Thirty-year sed cycles will be winkled out.

Eratosthenes.

He is, of course, “all over the place” in our terms I.e. of prince A following prince B immediately etc. However, we ignore Eratosthenes at our very great peril. So we, sensibly, will not ignore Eratosthenes.

Menes -2873 to -2811
Athothis -2811 to -2752 or -2813 to -2754 (the rise of Zemti A5 or Merneith's regency)
Athothis II -2741 to -2709 or -2743 to -2711
Uennephes -2752 to -2710
Miebis -2690 to -2671
Pemphos -2664 to -2646

We should now visit anno mundi 2900, etc. The dynasty is Theban. Theban is 18th dynasty as far as Eratosthenes is concerned. Theban is Nubian in latter 18th/early 19th dynasties. Makeda is the last of her line in Nubia. She ends -1209. Osorkon II can be associated with Nubia and Thebes . He ends -1207. Now anno mundi 3045 can be guessed at. Working BACKWARDS, never a good idea, we can build the following equations
  1. -1207-3045 = -4252.
  2. -1611 -2900 = -4511 Eus.

Points to consider re dating above;
  1. Flood -3326-969 (little green book-Loeb Classic Series) -4295 Eus. Correction is 48 yrs - see academia.edu for an endless diatribe on this topic. -4295+48=-4247 (Talmudists). Cf. -4252 will develop later.
  2. AM (real 7 days of Creation) to Adam is 1058 yrs
  3. Eus. And Afr. provide two numbers 2242 and 2262 for “Adam to Flood”.
  4. AM Afr. -5589 and AM Eus. -5569 reflect above divergence. By equating, in a playful way, Adam and real Creation we can discover that Adam was created in -5589 + 1058 = -4531 Afr. And -5569 + 1058 = -4511 Eus. QED.
  5. -1611 is as follows; Gebel Tjauti Rock Inscription 11, 290 days drift + Heliopolitan corection which is 1 day earlier / 4 degrees of Lattitude = 294. Years corresponding are counted from the DD of Demi-God Ammon's sed renewal in -2787. So -2787 +4*294 = -1611 cf. Kahun and Ebers.
    6. Djer is said to have a heliacal rising; Wikipedia; lets try -2787 or Year 1 or 1 following an accession year of Djer and see it looks good.

The interesting question is why Eratosthenes has started Theban dynastic history at Menes not Ahmose I. Probably scene-setting.

Next cab off the rank is Africanus (Manetho's Epitome).

But first lets do a Public Service review or model.

QED sed.

Are there any keys, daisy-chains, post-keys or follow-ons (end-to-ends)?

Djer keys the demi-god Ammon,
Iti=Kenkenes keysTeti,
Athothis (Book of Sothis) keys Edjo
Merneith post-keys Edjo
Uennephes (Book of Sothis/Eus) keys Merneith
Den daisy-chains Ammon, demi-god
One regnal count of Den keys Uennephes
A second regnal count starts with a second regnal count for Uennephes – no joy here though
Athothis II (Eratos.) follows-on Teti; ending one regnal count co-terminal with Uennephes which leads CUT to wonder whether Uenephes – a child, in -2762 of 8 years; a youth, in -2752 of 18 years – had a regent, his mother from her renewal sed, till he reached 47 yrs in -2723. His majority coming in -2742 cf. -2743 he is the 're-incarnation' of the now defunct and probably dead Athothis. Sounds a bit familiar doesn't it?
Semempses keys Den's sed
Den follows-on on two regnal starts a) Uennephes - sort of - and b) Kenkenes really
Den and Uennephes 'sort of' parallel rule, -2710 to -2700, includes the end of Djer in -2705 and a five year hiatus before a regnal count for Miebis because Miebis followed-on Djer.
Miebis follows-on in -2700 Kenkenes
Den now kicks on without Uennephes till -2690 when Miebis sort of keys Semempses and Sneferka actually keys Semempses
Qa'a daisy-chains Den in -2780
Even though we can picture Kebh as keying Miebis he really doesn't start a regnal count till the end of Miebis' second repeat sed. At which time Semempses and Kebh joint-rule
Semempses seems to have set up Boethos Hotepsekhemwy as a counter to Miebis in -2757 – possibly a political or dynastic move
Horus Bird follows-on Sneferka
Banetjeru daisy-chains Qa'a
Kakau follows-on Miebis
Seth-Peribsen post-keys Horus: Bird

So what can we say in summary?

The “destruction of Egypt” of Semempses Year 1 record is the same as Boethos' “great calamity”. That is to say a huge earthquake – remember the continents, at this time (orbital see Setterfield), have not long assumed their almost modern tectonic placements – at Bubastis wiped out a good portion of the populace in -2656. This placed the second dynasty at the crossroads. From -2620 dynasty one is no more but a new dynasty and a renewed Egypt are on the go starting with Boethos in -2627. The first prince born into - or who was only small at the time of Bubastis - this new world is Kakau and he assumes power in a sort of follow-on (CUT sometimes ues the term 'end-to-end') from Kebh in -2601.

The beginning of the dynasty saw the passing of the baton from the demi-gods to the dynastic era kings. We can weave, however inexpertly, nearly all the 'known' kings into our dynasty one tapestry. The prevailing notion is one of orderly but not uniform transition from king to king. The lesson of Den (regnal count - Palermo Stone fragments, The Oxford fragment - 4th -2745, 5th -2744, 6th -2743, 7th -2742; regnal count - The Cairo-Stone fragment C5 18th -2723, 19th -2722, 20th -2721, 21st -2720, 22nd -2219) shows us the multiplicity of regnal counts for one king. Mostly representing co-rules till some significant point of transition e.g. the end of a 70-year period of public service – not all as top dog.

Merneith (mother of Djet and Den) see Wiki item re two “cartouches” for Mother of King, Athothis and Uennephes definitely have the smell of another go of Osiris, Isis, Horus etc. Whether a recycle or what, we see at least the outline of a pattern of historical events that are by our Creator recycled.

We should note in connection with long reigns in TC which receive so much derision, in the literature, that Biblical patriarch contemporaries such as Heber , Peleg and Reu ruled 80 years, 52 years (-2818 to -2766) and 132 years respectively -see CUT chronology. So Djer's 84 years is WELL within the bounds of reality.

The Palermo Stone gives the following series of Kings in the view of CUT chronology. From Breasted;
First Dynasty King T = Djer (Breasted, vol I, p.57 line 92 is 6 months 7 days – in funny talk this is Peret III, day 7 cf. Wikipedia article re calendar entry (unspecifed) “death of Djer on Peret III, day 7” QED); King U = Kenkenes = Iti NB: from a DD of -3174 cf. Noah, 103 days drift brings us to -2762 the first year of a Kenkenes regnal count (Book of Sothis/Eus.); Lost kings (incl. Den = Usaphais = Zemti etc); King V = Djet (Uennephes =Ita);
Second Dynasty King Neterimu = Banetjeru = Binothris; Lost kings; King W = Chaires = Kara; King X = Djadjay.

These lead us to point out that Wikipedia on Den includes a portion of Palermo Stone 28th...41st year which belong to Uenephes as 28th -2743, 29th -2742 etc. The thirty-one years could possibly be thirty-two years. NB a small research opportunity exists to find Year 32. This is also Athothis II of Eratosthenes.

Missing Years?

The Abydos King List remains intact, in the sense of there are no years 'missing' from the start year of first king to the end date of the last king;

Menes -2873 to -2811
Teti -2813 to -2743
Iti -2784 to -2714
Ita -2770 to -2700
Septi (Zemti) -2749 to -2679
Meribiap -2705 to -2631
Semsu -2719 to -2647
Qebeh -2671 to -2601

Sakkhara King List is intact, in the sense of there are no years 'missing' from the start year of first king to the end date of the last king;

Miebis -2705 to -2631
Kourodes -2671 (-2664) to -2601

End of Dynasty One /Start of Dynasty Two Controversy

To reconcile Eus./and Armenian recension we have the following;

Eus. 297 years, and 549 from “beginning” Arm. 297 years
Dealing with 549 years. Mestraim in Book of Sothis is equated to Menes. CUT puts Mestraim/Menes at -2846. Therefore we can sum -2846 + 549 to -2297 or Tosorthros of Eus/Afr. Dynasty #3 in CUT chronology. OR, we can sum as follows; -2873 + 549 = -2324. This works if Gosiormes / Hotepsekhemwy has a PS of -2394 to -2324 as opposed to -2395 to -2325. This is actually a 'better' PS in this model. In other words Eus. Confirms Afr. - maybe for the first time!!

The 297 of Eus. is Kebh as the first Dynasty #2 king (remember Eus. is a pest of a pedant) or -2664 + 297 = -2367 or the end of Bebty, in CUT chronology, and also the end of the royal line.

A Rerun of Dynasty Two

We should note that there is little consistency as to whether the regnal count at a key is from the key or post-key year e.g. Nubnefer keys Banetjeru in -2581/-2580 – his Year 30. He could start a regnal count in -2580 i.e. Year 1 of this regnal count is -2581/-2580 OR he could start in -2579 i.e. Year 1 of this regnal count is -2580/-2579. If he takes the first option then his sed year is -2552/-2551. Tlas is set down as a key to Nubnefer ie his Public Service (PS) runs -2552 to -2482 (assuming as CUT has a model PS). The Palermo Stone material for Banetjeru has a 7th year entry in -2581/-2580 and a 8th year entry in -2580/-2579. In other words Banetjeru has a parallel or Joint rule with Nubnefer. However the 36th to 44th year is a standard regnal count for Banetjeru from his sed -2580/-2579. The 36th Year coincidentally corresponds to the first Year of Weneg – assuming he is not Tlas.

Another way of illustrating this principle is with Horus: Bird (CUT) -2621 daisy-chains Sneferka (CUT) -2690 to -2620. In -2589 Seth-Peribsen (CUT) post-keys Bird. Thus Bird, in this model, would have started a regnal count in -2619 or he opted to post-key Seket's (-2650 to -2580) sed. Remember Seket in this model would have keyed Ka'a and may have started a regnal count in -2649. We should note that Baunetjer's 95 years were somewhat of an extra beyond Year 70. In other words Banetjeru's first Palermo Stone regnal count started (-2587) in an end-to-end anticipation of his retirement – but it didn't happen!

We can take a further look at the predictive value of the model. When the end of Banetjeru comes in -2515 then Sesthenes comes to light He rules 70 yrs (end-to-end) from -2515 to -2445. Stoichos of Eratosthenes is our confounding element. He rules, in an end-to-end from Tlas (-2552 to -2482), from -2482 to -2412 thus providing a daisy-chain to Neferkasokar in -2413 – an IMPORTANT date or DD. Senedj has a regnal count from -2482. The problem with this arrangement is that it does not lead to a -2873+555= -2318 end of Dynasty One and Two. My conclusion is 555 it is just a check-digit.

From Kim Ryholt, p.7 of 21, “The Turin King-List”, academia.edu, Dec 25, 2014; 3:48 am we have
... Heading for the Ist-I0th Dynasties (3.10)
" [Kings of the house of (?) king Menes."
Summation for the 1st-5th Dynasties (4.26)
"Total of kings from Menes until [Unas: x amounting to
767 (or 768) years . J "
Summation for the 6th-8th Dynasties (5.14-15)
" [Total of] kings [until Neferirkare: xJ amounting to 181
years, 6 months, 3 days, and a lacuna of 6 (years). Total:
1 [87 years, 6 months, and 3 days J . "
Summation for the Ist-8th Dynasties (5.15-17)
" [Total ofJ kings37 [fromJ Menes; their kingship, their
years, and a lacuna [thereto J : 9 [ 4J 9 years and 15 days, and
a lacuna of 6 years. Total: [x kings amounting toJ 955
years and 1 [5 J days." ….

Operating on the basis of the Exodus year (-1580 to -1579) for CUT chronology purposes we can have the following material to digest or throw-up.

From -1580 backwards according to 1st-5th Dynasties (4.26) total i.e. by 768 years we come to -2348 the SECOND AXIS tilt. By going forward to Ist-8th Dynasties (5.15-17) total we arrive at -1393 cf. Harmessus Miamum. By going backwards from -1393 according to 6th-8th Dynasties (5.14-15) i.e. by 187 years we come to -1580. To conclude then Dynasty 1-5 ends at Exodus and Dynasty 6-8 starts at Exodus. CUT is in error on this point. Africanus gives 146 years for Dynasty #6 i.e. -1625 to -1479.

That's it for our revision to date for Dynasty One of Egypt.

It is possible that Djer is Kenkenes = Iti.  He would have started his sed regnal count with Aha = Teti = Athothis' keyed sed in -2784.  Nothing particularly stands in the way of a -2705 end as opposed to -2714.  In this way we can validate king Qa'a seal list of kings i.e.  Narmer, Aha, Djer, Djet, Den, Anedjib, Semerkhet and Qáa from Ottar Vendel's great website Ottar Vendel Sun Dec 21 9:28 PM AEST
